AKG 701 and Cayin? or Doge?

I suspect the Cayin HA-1A is actually more proven than the Doge. Cotdt your excitement for the Doge is getting a bit exaggerated. The Cayin has been around quite a few meets. I was very impressed with a variety of phones, though unfortunately I wasn't big on the K701 at the time. It's certainly a great all-arounder and usable for the K1Ks or speakers.

In this price range I've gone the Woo route, but there are lots of good options.

Cayin HA-1A pairs well with the K701. It doesn't add too much warmth but the amp has more speed and resolution than is typical of most tube amps. Lots of power in reserve. And it has a nice mid-bass punch too.

I really like the looks of the Cayin. A bit pricey for me though.

Spiritsound is a great place to do business and is run by Richard Moulding, a man who has the highest integrity of anyone I have known in the audio business over the last 30 years.

The Cayin is also very well made.
