I think that in my quest for an affordable, uncoloured (similar to ER4) over ear headphone I have been led to AKG.

Now, at my local store the price difference between the AKG 141 and 240 is only 2 dollars but my problem is that they to seem to be the same! (well, very similar!)

Can somebody help me here?

So the 141 sits on your ears? Weird... although I do have glasses....

The 141 might work better with glasses; the 240 probably won't judging from trying them just now with my sunglasses. The 141 and 171 (closed version) are relatively uncommon, but the people who have them seem to like them. I don't think it would be more than a little step down from the bigger brother, at any rate, more to do with the difference between supraaural and circumaural sound.

99?

ook...

Either way, I went with the 240.

So bassy compared to my Ety's....

I can't wait for them to break in a bit.

Overall fairly pleased though, very light and comfortable.

Everything is bassy compared to etys. Find something heavy on the mids, and then lean back and enjoy the soundstage. Enjoy.
