These headphones officially debuted a few months ago, but nobody really created any buzz regarding them. 
 
It seems that there will be a $99 set of in-ears, imaginatively called the  "MPC Earbuds." These will feature wireless connectivity, and due to the shape of them, are probably designed for athletic use.
 

 
 
 
 
A $299 set on on ears, also imaginatively called the "MPC Headphones" with 40mm
And another $500 pair of on ears called the "MPC Pro" with 50mm
 
Given AKAI's good experience making music production and DJing gear, I have high hopes for these, especially the $500 model, as that is quite a lot to charge for headphones

I actually think that the design of the beats pro would have been very well executed if the headphones weren't so freaking heavy. And at least they aren't blatantly copying the design, as was the case with the Yamaha Pro series.

Does anyone know if these and the M-Audio HDH50's are identical or if they just share externals? If so, the M-Audio's seem like a steal at 199 compared to the 500 dollar pros

Got mine for 99$ xmas 1 day sale. I can tell you these are great, built like a tank, great range. More of an audiophile headphone than a dj type by sound
