I am looking to have a small set up at home (I'm moving) that would consist of an AK Jr and Grado 225 headphones. Does anybody have any experience of using a similar combination and did you find there was a need to an amp to be added to the mix?
It sounds ok without but I feel something is missing that I can't put my finger on. If you think I would need an amp do you have any recommendations. The amp specifically doesn't need to be portable but does nee to be compact and can (should?) be mains powered. Buget is implied by my DAP & phones for this set up!!
I will ultimately take my stuff into a store and play but having a little background before I do that would be a great help
