Is there anyone using the Headroom Airhead (new model) for home use?. I have a pair of Sen 540II's and was wondering if it has the power to drive them. Also I am thinking of getting a pair of Grado 125's and was wondering if they would sound good with the Airhead. I would rather not buy portable and a home unit and was hoping I could find an amp to do both jobs.

Just add an external power supply, like one from Radio Shack. Depending on the model/vintage of Airhead you have, it can take from 5volts (older 2AA models), to 15volts (newer 3AAA models) regulated.

I think the Airheads actually sound better that way, than portably under battery power. Should work well with the Senns.

FYI the new new Airhead (octagon box) uses 4AA.

can I get a little more information on this as to sound quality. I was thinking of getting a Rega Ear, do I need to if I get a Airhead?
