I've been looking for a headphone that does mids (especially vocals)very well. Both of these products are currently $199 on Amazon

The RE272 isn't like the RE262, its not a mid-centric IEM its more of a very balanced sound so I think the SM2 would be the better choice for vocals and mids as its about 85% or so of the SM2 in terms of SQ, so I've heard.  $199 is a great price for them so I think you should jump all over that.

for 199$ , you may not find a better iem than 272 , that is if you are not a basshead
