Adjusting clamp force on Audio Technica AD700/900? | Headphone Reviews and Discussion - Head-Fi.org

Hey guys, just picked up a pair of AD900s and just as I remembered with the AD700, the clamp force is a bit big for my head. Has anyone here successfully increased the clamp force on these headphones? I'm a bit hesistant to juset straightup bend the wired headband since I don't want to risk breaking it and am not even completely sure if its metal underneath. Any first hand experience tips?

This. I would recommend a hair tie (I personally am using a rubberband and sometimes it pulls my hair). My ad900x's would slip down a bit and I wasn't having any of that.

So I'm assuming I would have to leave the rubber band on the whole time? Is there no permanent way to increase the clamping force?

You could bend the band BUT using a hair tie, to me, has worked best in terms of fit.

You can increase the clamp force by inserting a wire under the pads, or some foam.
