I’ve managed to find a used one off eBay. It’s not arrived yet. If I like it then I’ll send it to Steve from npaudio to get it modded and probably get the battery replaced. Can’t wait to try it

Congrats! This is an amazing DAP, truly lives up to the mythical hype. Might not be precision monster, but in terms of dynamics it's TOTL. Try WP900 and IE900 for some special synergy magic. I can also highly recommend the NPAudio mod. He did the full works on mine and this is 100% a keeper. If the LO/PO jacks ever go iffy on mine, I'll also send to him to upgrade them.

The dap sounds fantastic. I’m using it with ie600 iems and it sounds very lively. How do I get a different music player on the dap as obviously the android is very old?

You don't! I'd stick with the Pro player personally. Update the FW if need be, but I'd avoid trying other apps.

IE600 and AR-M2 is my daily driver. Awesome combo.

The Pro player is actually an early UAPP variant branded for Acoustic Research.
Navigation is a little odd but once you get used to it it's fine. (I am always closing it instead of navigating back)

Yup, I'm totally happy with it. Works perfectly with 1TB card with full album work, no bugs, no issues.

can you give a brief comparison with the modded 1a and modded r2r2k?

Too early for big impressions. I would say the modded wm1z is more detailed. the modded r2r2000 is different to the other two as it uses r2r dac and has a very natural sound. The ar-m2 sounds very lively and exciting.
