I bought a pair of Audio Technica ATH-AD700's a few months ago and absolutely love them. The sound is better than any headphones I have listened to in my life. But now I am reading about amps, and that they improve the sound? Is it worth buying an amp for these headphones? Will the improvement be worth it? I only really use the headphones on my gaming PC or Macbook, so I don't really need a portable amp. What would be the best option for me? Are some amps overkill, or would I still see improvements with  even the best? Thanks for any advice!

Or just go full out and get the O2+ODAC combo, more expensive, but it will run most headphones, and be your last amp/DAC buy for a long time.

Either that, or if you just want a normal boost in SQ go with the E17, as the O2+ODAC might be overkill for your headphones.

I'm definitely open to upgrading my headphones one day though. I kind of needed headphones for my gaming PC I just built, and only had around $200, so these were the best in my price range (around $130 or something in Australia). I absolutely love sound, so I'll most likely upgrade once I upgrade my monitor and GPU.
