i could not live without Robyn Hitchcock - Eye.

i have owned it since the day it was released, and i still listen to it on a regular basis 17 years later.

I looked through all posts and nobody mentioned Loreena McKennitt.
Even though I mostly listen to prog and classic rock, these two albums - MUST!
It’s a fusion of Rock, Classic and Folk
I consider her as my best discovery so far and her vocal just second to none!
You can find it at any public library.

Go take it and tell me that I am WRONG.

On the subject of anime OSTs, the Hokuto no Ken OST isn't too bad. In particular, Ai wo Torimodose (愛を取り戻せ) is a good track if you like that kind of over-the-top Japanese power-ballad rock. I'd go as far as to say the vocals can match even the finest Finnish power-metallers.

This also gives me an excuse to mention Oranages & Lemons again. the Tribute to Azumanga Daioh Live album is, IMHO, essential. It manages to do that very Japanese thing of somehow making you understand the shear skill of the vocals, while at the same time not quite being able to believe it sometimes. It's like the musical equivalent of the Ikaruga Appreciate DVD.

Whatever People Say I Am, That Is What I Am Not - This one is filled with goodies, and has something for everyone. Fastest selling Debut Album of all time in the UK, with all of it's singles debuting at #1 on the UK charts

Also, the single "I Bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor" has 2 very good songs on it.
