There's an "amp" forum- ask there.

And before someone says "BUT HE'S ASKING ABOUT ONE FOR A SPECIFIC HEADPHONE", remember that ALL amplifier questions are assumed to be for the application of amplifying something else (headphones or speakers). In other words, when they created a special forum just for amplifiers, they *knew* they were going to be driving headphones yet they created the forum anyway.

Am kind of new to this site, so cut me a little slack plz.

Also I noticed that the amount of readers in the "amp" forum is a lot less than here, not that that is a reason to post an "amp" question here.

I suggest the Cary Audio CAD-1610-SE, which is a 50 watt tubed mono power amplifier. Meaning you will have to buy two of them at a price of ~$40.000 each. Plus a suitable pre-amp

I wonder how many members have thrown the serious resources it would take to amp roll the K1000. Before I got the K1000s I ordered an Air Tight ATM300 to drive a pair of Omega Super 3 speakers but after reading Nik's views on amping the K1000s with it I am going to have try it for myself, the Omegas can wait.
I am also going to try them on a pair of 25wpc Isis 3030 tube Monoblocks that normally drive my 907BE speakers. The PS Audio GCC250 is the first amp I have tried the K1000s with and so far I am loving what I hear. A few years ago I had an EAR V20 in a speaker setup and loved it, I am sorry now that I sold it, I would like to hear what it can do with the K1000.

No offense meant, stax. It's just an old argument.

Afrikane's post above is a perfect reason why this should be in the "amp" forum- it sounds like he may have, or end up with, interesting info, but the chances that someone is going to find that info in a future search are diminished greatly with it being buried in the 'headphone' forum.

I'm not trying to armchair mod- just throwing out info that I think will help the site.

No offense taken! I appreciate what you're saying and can see the logic.

I am so thrilled with these K1000's that I quickly posted that question in the headphone section, without thinking that it really was a headphone amp question.

Well let me put it this way, good enough that I don't have any desire upgrading to something else.

Would still be interesting to hear them with some of the amps mentioned in this thread though.

I didn´t try a lot of ams with the K1000.

Sometimes I feel the urge of trying new amps but then I listen to the V20-K1000 combo again and that urge dissapears.

I compared this combo with several headphone setups and still is one of my reference ones.
