I know people who fly to china to just watch the kite festivals there... there is more to do in China and while your there you get to shop for items to take back home.... it would be great to be able to go to some of the huge headphone shops... stop in Singapore on the way back home too...

I couldn't imagine going to China for fun. I am in Canada and it is 12 hours from Vancouver. And it is five-six hours for me to get to Vancouver.

And Canadians have been known to get detained for sketchy reasons.
Of course you can say the same thing about America now. Political relations with both countries are not good.

2025 (and maybe beyond) seems like a good time to explore your own country.

Luckily I have been at this collecting stage for about ten years. I was slowing down anyway.

You're assuming CBP will just ignore your electronics-filled suitcase and let you stroll right through on return to the USA. That likely isn't a valid assumption in the current environment.

Due to well-known circumstances, the sales of FIIO products in the U.S. will be significantly impacted. While we should adjust retail prices immediately, current policies are undergoing rapid changes, making it impossible for us to quickly update pricing across all online and offline sales channels in the U.S. Additionally, FIIO still has limited inventory remaining in the U.S.

As a result, we must wait for the finalization of relevant policies and monitor inventory levels before making any adjustments to FIIO’s retail pricing in the U.S. market.

We sincerely appreciate the longstanding support of all FIIO users in the U.S. and kindly ask for your understanding. FIIO has always adhered to a low-margin, high-volume business model. Under the current circumstances, maintaining existing retail prices would make our U.S. operations unsustainable. Therefore, we encourage customers to make purchasing decisions based on actual needs.

If the product inventory in the U.S. sells out before tariff policies are finalized, we may have to suspend sales to avoid losses. Should policies stabilize, we will determine final retail prices based on the confirmed tariff rates. Thank you for your continued trust and support.

Best regards,
Guangzhou FIIO Electronics Technology Co., Ltd.
Hey guys, have you been able to figure out if you and other Chinese audio companies are part of the exemptions that were announced on 11 or 12 April?

Seems like electronic, computers and semiconductors have been exempted with only a 10% baseline tariff, basically prices might only go up 10% for these items.

Businesses starts with their cost of goods and then add margin.

I would be surprised if they didn't add margin to their cost. But maybe in this environment, they will eat it.

Nope. Per Bloom Audio, their most recent shipment from China got hit with the full tariff. They will take a loss on that shipment and will not be ordering anymore until tariffs are resolved.

These stupid tariffs will irrevocably change the hifi market in the USA and worldwide. Not just our little corner of the trade world but everything else too. Not a fan.
