For daily use, here are some of my personal considerations:
Fit: narrower body and nozzle, without being as intrusive and painful as the Etymotic ER2XR. Good examples of good fit would be the Final E4000, E5000, FiiO FH3 and Tanchjim Darling.
Cable: My favorite cables have been the cable that came with the FiiO FH3 and Moondrop Kato. Non-microphonic and supple, just thick without dragging on the ear when worn over ear. Has to be smooth rather than rough and painfully digging into the ear like the cable that comes with Acoustune HS1300SS and 1657CU.
Also, an all black smooth cable is easier to hide stains or "greening" that happens with clear cables.
Cable options: Modular option to unscrew single-ended 3.5mm to add 4.4mm or 6.3mm when connecting to DAPs or desktop DAC/amps.
On a personal note, I would love to see a successor to the K5 Pro, that targets mid-fi. The K9 Pro is a great product but is out of reach for those upgrading from K5 Pro. Add balanced 4.4mm and a nice bass boost switch like in the K3, and it would be quite the attractive entry/mid-range DAC/amp.

Personally I think FiiO needs to put more efforts in creating IEMs with better fitting and "unique" sound signature. To me, there is no "wow" factor in FiiO recent releases. They are tuned correctly and safely. I would like to see more brave and bold trials in their future releases. You can stick with safe and reserved tuning in mid-fi tier but you will need more "surprises" to make people fork out the money in hi-fi tier. I see no "special" in FiiO flagship products.
Think about it. This could be harsh, but this is a fact.
Hi today we tested with 5 people the fiio fh9 / fh7 / fh3 / fa7 / fa9 + qudelix 5k fiio a5, btr5, btr7. The fiio fh9 are excellent headphones they have a bit of swelling on the middle part but with an eq it can be fixed, we have noticed in the tests that the fh9 is only a different signature from all the other headphones none of us noticed a better resolution and cleaning of the sound are more or less at the level of fh7 / fh3 / fa9! Are we wrong or do we have hearing problems?
