since I started this thread, I bought a new one - and have been treating it as precious as a baby (so far, so good - no glass threads sticking out)

But I'd be interested to hear about comparisons with other toslink cables!

well my first cable broke - and when I sent them in, the retailer sent me back a used one. But then when I got the new pair - the differences was there. Things seemed just a tad bit sweeter in the upper frequencies and a slightly larger soundstage.

However, I don't know if this is due to the scratch free lens of the new cable, or from the fact that the thread isn't sticking out..

The threads tend to stick out easier on the miniplugs rather then the toslink side
