I haven't watched any new movies for about a year now. Can you folks list a few new DVD rentals (any genre) that you think are the best for the past year?

Thanks!

Thanks, raif...I've placed that on my Netflix list! Now I need more...

You got to list some genre to help us out.

Have you seen the Lord of the Ring trilogy yet?
Kill Bill Vol 1 and 2?
Lost in Translation?
The Ring?
Finding Nemo?
Pirates of the Caribbean?
Monster?
Love Actually?
Bend it like Beckham?
Master and Commander?
Something's Gotta Give?
Mystic River?
Pieces of April?
Eurotrip?
Thirteen?
Gothika?

I'm all over the map.
Help me out.

I watched "anger management" with Jack Nicolson last night....... it was my first DVD experience ever and it was pretty funny.......

Take my recommendation with a pinch of salt Rick........ the last time I went to the cinema "where eagles dare" was the rave review (serious)

"anger management" made me chuckle but didn't manage to make me laugh........ worth a go though.

Mike.

I marked the movies I have seen. As far as genre, I like all kinds of stuff, but I prefer a good suspense drama like "Mystic River"...

I really appreciate you fellas helping me on this. The movies I've checked off, I watched when I was visiting my sis over in San Jose. I want to use my new Netflix subscription to see some others.

(Man, we're having a major storm-including hail here in Santa Cruz at the moment. I'm waiting for my power to go off any moment...this is kinda scary...)

Holy crap...I just looked out my window, and my patio table and chairs are covered with hailstones. I don't even want to walk out to the parking lot to see what has happened to my new T-Bird!

This is Santa Cruz, CA....we don't have hailstorms here...

What in the hell is going on?

From Bootman's list above I recommend:

Finding Nemo - A great movie for the entire family.

Eurotrip - A funny movie but may not be suitable for viewing by kids due to some adult themed comedy.

Something's Gotta Give - A hilariously funny movie.

Also would recommend if you haven't seen already 50 First Dates, as it was also a good romance/comedy movie.

Its the BoSox curse coming to an end.
Stuff like this is happening everywhere.
Tonight the moon is going to disappear.
After they clinch, a meteor is going to strike the earth.

I highly recommend "City of God."

I'm probably one of the few who enjoyed "Paycheck".

If you didn't see "The Day After Tomorrow" in the theatres it's a nice rental.

I loved "Final Destination 2"

I still feel ambivalent about "Terminator 3"

Fear Dot Com

If you can stand Tom Cruise, "The Last Samurai"

For oldies:
Murder My Sweet
This Gun for Hire
Sandra Dee: That Funny Feeling
Sandra Dee: If A Man Answers
