These were recommended to me in another thread along with the Monster Turbines. I was planning to start with the Nuforce as less expensive IEMs and move up from there if I find the need.
I read the review on Touchmyapps and it suggested that these headphones are a little hard to drive -- although it seemed a good match with the Ipod Touch 2g, which is what I have. I will be using these on a commute and I tend to listen at very low volumes. Will I need to turn these up to get decent sound quality and bass?

Also, since I am using them while commuting, isolation is very important to me. It seemed that isolation was pretty good with these, but I would just like some confirmation.

Finally, how are the Nuforce comfort-wise?

Thanks.

I'm sure others will weigh in on your questions that have used these phones now. I will post some feedback as to my experience with them as soon as I have them in my greedy fingers which will hopefully be tomorrow or the next day, the wait is killing me :-).

I'll compare them to the stock buds with my Ipod Touch (2nd Gen) as well as my other buds I own which will include:
JVC HA-FX66
JBL Reference 220
Bose In Ear
Sennheiser CX 300
Panasonic RP-HJE550

Most of my buds are of lower end variety with the exception of the Pana's ($99CAN Retail) and the Bose ($129CAN Retail). I really hope they have the volume and playability of the Bose (in a quiet room I can play the Bose at about 1/4 volume and they sound good), as compared to the Pana's which don't shine until I hit slightly over 1/2 volume or I have to use my Fiio amp which is not easy to use while working or walking about.

They need no amping. Isolation is good. You shouldn't have a problem with them. I don't get why someone would say these are hard to drive, although, the sensitivity is just 100dB. They really don't need an amp at all and happily work off anything, frankly no discernible difference.

You don't need high volume. They sound good at any reasonable level.

I'd encourage you to get foam tips like the Comply t400 (way overpriced, but they work like a charm).

NE-7Ms are easy to drive IEMs. 1/3 of full volume from my DAPs, laptop,... can drive NE-7Ms reasonably. At 3/4, it is loud enough...

NE-7ms along with Comply tips are VERY comfortable. You can sleep easily in them. I just got my Fiio E5 amp today (it was bought for for another set of IEMs) and the NE-7's don't sound that much better with it. The bass is pretty much the same without the bass boost. All in all the NE-7ms are a great buy. Plus you have 30 days to try them out. If you don't like them return them.

Having just recieved my NE-7M's all I can say is WOW they are simply wonderfull, everything I have been looking for in a set of reasonably priced buds. They are driven extremely well by my 2nd Gen Ipod Touch (no more Fiio 5 amp

). The bass from these is VERY good (I am a BOSE IE user so am used to TONS of Bass, these do not have that much bass but it is way tighter and better sounding especially midbass, I would say they have about 3/4 the bass of the Bose), the mids are better than any other phones I have used (look at my profile for a list) and treble is very clear with no sibilince. They are also very comfortable and have great isolation. The only knock I have is microphonics and that has been dealt with by looping the phone cable over my ears and snugging the cable up under my chin. I will also be using an old clip I have from another set of earbuds I have laying around because I like to manage the cables on me.

OK guys. Thanks. You've sold me. I have been pretty unhappy lately with the sound quality of the Ipod Touch which I am currently using with Shure E3 IEMs. There is very little bass or fullness in sound. I listen to a lot of jazz and brassy instruments can sometimes sound like a Kazoo. So I'm really hoping these will make a difference. If not ... well I guess there's always the return policy to fall back on.

Thanks, and I'll let you know what I think when they arrive. Happy listening!

they'll be significantly better than all those listed.
even with the price difference on the high end ones.

I am interested in the S4's but will be waiting for reviews and unless I see HUGE compelling reasons to think of upgrading or more appropriately side-grading, these new NE-7M's really do sound awful nice...

Well, the NE-7Ms arrived today. Kudos to Nuforce for the fast shipping. My first impressions are very favorable. They seem well worth the price. I don't have any IEMs except my Shure E3s around to compare them to at the moment. In comparison to the Shures with my Ipod Touch 2G, the Nuforce are warmer and much fuller on the low end--assuming I have a good seal. They have a very pleasant sound signature. The Shure's excel in the midrange, but the NE-7Ms do a pretty nice job here as well.

I tried all of the tips that came with it and the larger tips seem to provide the best seal ... although they are not the most comfortable. The isolation for me is ok, but not nearly as good as the Shures with the black Olives. This is a concern for me, because I really want to block out as much noise as possible while commuting. I have a few pair of the Comply tips on order and they should be arriving tomorrow or Monday at the latest. My hope is that these will provide the isolation that I am looking for.

My only other complaint is that I am having a little trouble with the remote. It is often difficult to get the songs to advance ... instead it pauses and starts playing again ...even when I click the remote fast. Sometimes it seems to work better than others, so I hope I just need to get the hang of it.

I'm going to spend some time listening to different kinds of music and enjoying them. Assuming I can work out the seal/isolation issue and the remote, I think we'll have a winner.

I find the remote works but I also have had instances where it does what your describing. It's annoying but usually works the 2nd time if it fails the first time. The seal issue is a different beast. I know several guys have mentioned using the tips from the Shure E2C I don't know but if these are the same as E3s could you use those tips on the NE-2M?
