When I have trouble with static in the winter I treat my records with Static-Guard (for taking the static out of fabric). I spray a bit of pillowcase wrapped around my thumb, and wipe it on a spinning record to get a light coating on the record. It quickly dries so remember where you've gone, it takes about three spray-and-wipes to cover a side. After this my LPs are completely dead and never stick to the platter, and I've never worn out the treatment either. In the summer there's no static problem so I'm thinking it must be a humidity issue.
