I had plenty of 12" singles back in the day, and they all played at 33 1/3

Great music - takes me back...

I never had any 12" that played at 45rpm either. I believe they all played at 33 1/3 rpm as you said.

US pressings usually played at 33 1/3 rpm. European pressings usually played at 45 rpm. The 45 rpm pressings supposedly have better sonics.

I'm not ashamed to admit that when I'm feeling good, there's nothing like Huey Lewis and the News on vinyl to make me feel even better.

Hey I know you're looking for vinyl, but you may like this,

1980s: Modern Rock Of The: Various: Amazon.ca: Music

Even if you decide not to get it, there are some good ideas on songs to pursue in this 3 cd selection. One of the reviews on Amazon suggests that these are taken directly from vinyl anyway.

In a more digital vein, you might like the retro:active series by Hi Bias, I prefer the first, 2nd, 3rd and 4th discs.

Retro:Active 5 - Rare & Remixed - HI-BIAS RECORDS INC. - Since 1990, Canada's premier dance label has been releasing the very best in Dance, House,

The "2" disc contains the Q Lazzarus song Goodbye Horses (Extended), which you may have heard in Silence of the Lambs

.

My 2 cents - enjoy.
