TOUR CLOSED - 64 Audio US CIEM Demo Tour - Trio and 12t >>> Starting March 2018

yes some of us are retired and I have nearly all the bills in my wife's name, but Nic, Kubig, Dr Jazz and Eric and Suyang from EA all know me and have met me and I know will vouch for me, lol....I'll give you as much info as you ask for :)...Promise, lol...Being a retired Naval Commander, who's word has been my bond for my whole life, I get PISSED at folks who break rules, let alone the law. It does make life so much more difficult for those of us who are law abiding citizens of whatever country. I pray you find the bastards who did this and prosecute. Then post their names etc...on the whole net. That's what they deserve along with whatever legally they get. Just unreal.

If your last name matches your wife's last name and your DL address matches the bill address then you're good.

The social media requirement is likely going to be removed from the final list of requirements. We can get Head-Fi.org to provide IP address for the participants user account. I'm going to be against making any of the other requirements optional. There may be exceptions, but those first 6 will be mandatory or there will be a suitable replacement and explanation for why...

Second marriage so the name on some bills has my last name too, but some don't. I can use my auto lease bill as that's in my name too. My DL does match the house address of course, lol. :)...I'm sure I can put together plenty for you even my retired military ID, lmao. This whole thing really does bother me, but not as much as it bothers you of course. many of us have been talking off line about it. This is such a nice community over here compared to so many of the 2 channel on line communities where all folks do is fight and tell everyone who theirs is the only way to put a system together etc... That's why I seem to hang out on head fi more and more these days.

It's not that it bothers me @ctsooner22 I'm just trying to keep these tours going for the good people, by trying to keep the riff raff out with some added security, or at least keep the honest guys honest.:smile_phones:

I know...Old enough to get it. I think it may just upset the rest of us as it reflects on teh whole community. It's only a sad few, but you know as you are one of us, lmao.... Please keep us posted as much as you can on apprehending these pricks. Thanks for doing what you guys are doing. To all of us, it's much more than a company trying to drum up sales. It's the only way we can hear whats' out here and figure out things as it's a hobby for sure. Thanks man!

Question is what security do we have about our information? I think we need to know who we are handing our information over to, especially those of us that have had or have security clearances.

Barra and I are the only ones that will have any information from anyone other than a shipping address and phone number for the next person on the tour. I certainly don't have a problem sharing my Linked in profile.

And if you have a security clearance then you may want to skip the tours, or provide a credit card for security to the manufacturers...

@BulldogXTRM sent you a PM.
I don't use my physical address as my mailing address due to theft.
I do appreciate what you and Barra are doing, and it sucks that you have to do this.
I'm thinking once the thieves are caught they should be prosecuted with extreme prejudice

Things can be case by case as I said before, but under these circumstances you would still need to provide a home address, with a utility bill. The utility bill requirement for everyone will likely be a photographed phone bill with the phone number, your name and your address viewable in the photo. Barra will be filing charges on everyone that has not returned a tour kit or working with the manufacturer and doing what they ask of him.

Okay guys, I've spoken with @Barra and we've worked through some of the requirements and hopefully have something for you that's acceptable but also protects the kits from theft. Barra will be posting the new requirements soon, just be patient and the kits will start moving soon.

I have one kit in my possession now and my initial impressions are...

The trio has some slamming bass once you get a good seal, but so far the 12t sound is much more balanced to me. Both have similar sound stage with 12t just edging the trio out. The trio mids are just slightly recessed and the highs on both are spot on for accuracy. No sibilance at all with good extension.

@BulldogXTRM
Thanks for the reply. I'm not trying to be difficult, it's just I don't use my home address for any mail (call me paranoid).
FWIW I found the same about the Fourte and 18t, the 18t just sounded a bit fuller and more balanced to me. Wonder if that's an issue with
the lower drive count combined with the Tia chamber.
Looking forward to comparing the Trio and 12t (one of which I'll probably purchase).

Tour Update - New Qualifications and Procedures
After a lot of deliberation, we have come up with new qualifications and procedures that are not as daunting as you might fear. For most of you who already provided the originally requested data, it will require just one new item, a copy of your landline or cellular phone bill. This one item will do two critical things - it will verify your address and your phone number. However, the kit will only be shipping to the address on your state provided ID and the phone bill must match. We also changed the procedures to manage the tour through group email to provide me with transparency and control over the shipping address. We are ready for a number of exception requests that will be passed through @BulldogXTRM - so please contact him with other options for verification. Pasted below is the new language which is now also posted at the beginning of the thread. If your desire is to drop out, please let me know - otherwise, please submit your phone bills through the same email and we can finally get this tour started.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Participant Qualifications
To be eligible for the tour, all participants need to provide four types of contact information to verify identity and shipping address:
  1. State Issued Photo ID: We need a picture of your driver's license or other qualified ID with photo and that reflects your home/shipping address.
  2. Phone Bill: We need to verify your phone number and address with a photo of a current phone bill showing your phone number and address which matches your ID.
  3. Email Address: We will be managing the tours through email which requires an email that you can respond to within 24 hours.
  4. Backup Contact Info (Choose One of the Two):
    1. Employer: Name, Address, and Phone - or
    2. Relative: Name, Address, and Phone
This information must be emailed to billb@ClearDiff.com before your name will be added to the participant list. If you wish to join the tour, but cannot provide this information – you have the choice of providing 64 Audio with a credit card number to hold your spot and bypass the verification process, or you can contact Mike Brunner (@BulldogXTRM ) at bulldogxtrm@gmail.com with options for equivalent verification options that work for you to receive an exception. All personal information will be safeguarded by @Barra and will be deleted by request after the tour or by withdrawing from the tour. Retained information is good for a year to join additional tours hosted by @Barra.

Individual Responsibilities
Participants must understand and agree to these responsibilities listed below as well as take them seriously. Those that do not follow through with the agreed upon responsibilities will be blacklisted from all future tours. Please do not sign up for the tour if you feel there is any reason that you cannot live up to this commitment.
  • Communicate: Those in the tour will be expected to be reasonably available to communicate in tour proceedings. Phone, PMs, and email should be responded to within 24 hours maximum. Failure to do so may negate your eligibility and potentially blacklist you from future tours.
  • Protect: Participants are responsible for the value of the kit while in their care and will be expected to reimburse the manufacturer for any losses due to participant negligence. The kits should be handled with care and protected from theft. Each participant is responsible for the kit from signed receipt to signed receipt. While the manufacturer accepts responsibility in the case of shipper losses if you ship signature required, participants are still responsible for managing the shipper loss process to its conclusion until the proceedings are concluded. Providing tracking information and following the rules is critical in determining where your responsibility stops.
  • Follow the Rules: Each participant is expected to follow the rules listed below exactly:
    • At Receipt of Tour Kit: We need to know that the tour kit was received immediately to release the last participant from responsibility.
      • Confirm Receipt within 24 Hours: Please confirm receipt on the existing email thread with myself and the sender within 24 hours so both myself and the previous party knows that the transfer is complete.
      • Introduction to Next Participant: I will then initiate an email thread with you and the next participant to arrange to ship at the end of your seven-day audition. It is your responsibility to remind me within 48 hours if there is no response and I will remove them from the tour and provide you with the next participant’s info.
      • Visibility: Please always respond to emails “Reply All” so that I have visibility into the shipping process.
      • Be Ready to Ship on Day 8: It is also your responsibility to ensure that you have shipped the kit to the next participant on the 8th day, so please be diligent in contacting and communicating with the next participant. Never send a kit to someone that has not responded.
      • Communicate Problems/Issues: If needed, you can always reach me directly at my email me at billb@cleardiff.com .
    • Impressions/Review (Optional): While optional, to keep things interesting on the tour, any impressions or insight that you can post in the thread would be greatly appreciated. Full reviews are even more appreciated.
    • Ship on Day 8:
      • Verified Recipient: It is your responsibility to verify the recipient before shipping through your communications. If you sense any issues, please contact me before shipping.
      • Verified Address: I will provide you with the verified address in our email. It is important to make sure that you only mail to the verified address unless the two of you get an exception from me first.
      • Signature Required: You must ship signature required (or insured) to avoid the responsibility of shipper mishaps. The manufacturer will assume responsibility if you follow the rules.
      • Shipper Confirmation #: You must provide the recipient and me with the confirmation number within 24 hours of shipping. This will allow the recipient to play receipt with signature required.
    • Responsibility Ends on Signed Receipt: Your responsibility ends when the shipper posts a signed receipt from the recipient.

@Barra, I would like to withdraw my information and participation from the tour.

This is not due to the additional precautions, but rather due to the fact that I am purchasing both of the iems featured on this tour :)
After spending a few hours with these last weekend at Axpona, I put in an order for an A12t and my wife is getting the Trio.

Well, I bit the bullet and bought a leftover U10 from Roman at 64Audio yesterday, I called him and told him I couldn't wait to compare the U10 to the U12t, he upgraded my delivery to overnight (didn't ever realize he did that) and FedEx rang my bell this morning. Awesome customer service, wow!

Quick comparison on the U10 to the U12t besides the upgraded housing of the U12t... The U10 is more neutral sounding and slightly warmer, perfect for what I do on the stage as a lead guitar player in a hard rock band. The U12t has more sparkle and more bottom end. After listening to U10 I realize the U12t has that slight V-shape/U-shape signature. The Trio sound signature is close to the U12t but just more of everything.

The U10 and Trio are influence more by source than the U12t. The U12t didn't care what I used as a source the sound pretty much remained the same. I swapped cables on the U10 (dang they were tight!) and it didn't really matter much... I pulled out my V6 customs and compared them to the universals in my possession and found they had an eerily similar signature to the U12t...
Sound stage on all of these was really great with the Trio having the widest stage and the V6 the narrowest. Instrument separation on all of these is really phenomenal.

I've never used Adel or Apex tech and I keep reaching to turn my volume down from my normal settings, I guess it really does work!
