At this price I wish there was some sort of measurement available Even if measurements dont really show everything its a good to have.
Very close to pull the trigger and order TX02, screenshotted the data from the models. More easy to compare them when together like this.

I'm preserving my funds for AFUL Cantor first. If they mess up, and then I can jump on 634ears train. I have been reading his blogs for a while. So much to learn about DD tuning.

Got the chance to hear the brass cap loak 2 closed and I must say its quite stunning in a interesting way. While its not hifi at all it reminds me of the type of colouration where you are listening to a performance in the middle of a untreated overabsorbent bar and is quite nostalgic sounding. But thats off the Hiby R6 pro 2. Maybe it can play better with something richer more organic sounding instead of precise sounding source.

Personally Loak 2 open is my much prefered choice between the 2.

The front for both is titanium, Steel middle and wood(not sure what) for the open and brass cap for the closed. Both are selling for 1,000 SGD.

For the open its very mids focused and fast sounding. The open espect give a tight and good slam in a very controlled manner and good for J-metal and Rythem game EDM music. As its on the fast side in general the vocal body is there but there isnt much sustain. Very audiophile and clean sounding with the minor exception that there is a slight 7khzish peak to my years so if you blast it might not be the best.

Personally I really like it with songs like these





The vocals are really expressive yet fast enough to let the details shine though.

For the closed I would say its very analog sounding. While it it does have treble extension it has quite the soft texture to its transients and a mild roll off after after 4khz so its a very safe tuning. Thanks to that I would say its a vocal specialist since you can blast it to get larger than life vocals. That being said it does instruments very nicely also but it reminds me alot of having a air gap between the musicians and you in a small open air bar style stage.





Basically its really enjoyable with slower more melodic songs.

ah, this is actually exactly what I was hoping for… thank you very much for the impressions. Def want to add the open one to the collection too at some point.

Ooooh, I wonder how that sounds? Super-important in this case because it will take a loooonnnnggg time for a good patina to develop from use.

Just submitted my request for the new LOAK2-TS(CL) in Copper Blue with a 4.4 cable. I really appreciate you taking the time to write such a detailed response to my question about the Singularity comparison. This is much more what I was looking for in both sound and aesthetics, at half the price, as DIY as it gets, supporting smaller creators.
