For those more in the know, any difference between WE 2C51 and 396a? I assume uts the same but different years leading to different printed ink on the tube? I have also seen some that say both 2C51 and 396a. Any info here is very appreciated!

These tubes (on 5670 —> 6922 adapters) are unbelievable for Woo WA2 and Woo WA3 !

Would you say that it's better than 6DJ8 and 6922 type? I'm using them in a similar manner.
Certainly better than most / all the 6DJ8 - 6922 - 7308 type that I have tried. I have not yet gotten to NOS Telefunken E88CC.

I really adore mine too, they're pretty much the best if you seek more warmth and a wetter sound in your system but without sounding dull and boring. My front end is a bit to the neutral/bright side so they synergize really well.

I got the standard 5670 RCA, listening to it right now. I like the more forward mids. Nice piece. I'm curious about the Command RCA. How much difference is its signature? I've read it is supposed to give the WE396A a run for the best. I have the WE, would it worthwhile to seek out the Command?

Anyone ever tube roll the Aiyima T8 (hybrid amp/DAC)? With the stock Chinese 6N3 I'm finding it to be rather "slow" sounding and lacking detail or attack.

Yes; 5670 RCA Command are excellent, slightly warm, well balanced …. at $25-$40 each, great value to boot !

Responding to my own post, I got hold of a vintage 396A and it's a noticeable improvement - overall a more holographic and musical presentation with more "weight". I also got a JAN GE 5670W but haven't tried it out yet.

Have you yet tried those Jan GE 5670W tubes? How do they stand against the 396A?
