Did you test all three?

I haven't tested the 770's to be honest, but the k712 are more comfortable than the 770 or 990, but part of that is because they are lighter.

I read that DT 990's are the most comfortable of the trio..

It's really a personal thing honestly. Some people think m1060's are comfortable enough as is and other people swap pads and do things to the head band. So, i guess i should have said that i believe the k712's to be the most comfortable. It's just like sound, it's subjective not objective for the most part. Especially since everyone's head is different shaped and sizes so comfort is different and sound can be depending on how the cups seal on your ears due to your head.
