For a USB dac, there are two options:

1. 16 Bit / 48 kHz

2. 24 Bit / 96 kHz

I believe there is not that much content available for my Mac to benefit from the 24/96.

For computer audio is there a real point paying that extra 50 euro, or should I just save it?

There is also a TOS-link option, but USB is more common and can be used with laptops, so I assume for computer audio USB would be more convenient.

Help me choose or/and maybe save myself some money.

Which USB DAC?

16/48 is pretty much fine if it's a good DAC, but 24/96-192 has some technical benefits, not very audible though I think.

Its one of the Violectric (by Lake People). Il try to find a link to the product page.

yes, because the 16/48 is most likely running PCM2704 and it's really an horrid sounding chip.

or better, get a proper 24/96 S/PDIF transport. Maybe a $30 HA-Info U2? it will still beat PCM2704, and you'll gain galvanic isolation.
