Would there be any harm in using a 20 foot extension cable? I really want to listen in bed sometimes.

Lets say 24 AWG high quality copper wire is used. There shouldn't be any noticeable signal loss right? I know this is more often discussed for things like coax cables in TV signals.

No, you will be fine. 20 feet isn't that long. You could also buy a small cute amp and set it up next to your bed though.
