Anyone seen this yet? I did today, and think it is terrific. Extremely difficult to describe. All I can really say is that viewing this film is a truly artistic experience that will resonate with you both during and afterward, if you let it. Highly recommended.

The soundtrack is awesome too. I tried finding it at Tower Records afterward, but no go. Amazon has it, but I will try a few more places here in the City first.

"In The Mood For Love" is also great, especially for Hong Kong cinema, which is too often referenced to the martial arts genre (but then again we shouldn't ignore entertainment value). I haven't seen "2046" yet, but I don't think Wong Kar Wai will disappoint viewers for a while.

That pretty much summed up my impression of most Wong Kar-wai's movies.

I must admit "In The Mood For Love" was great.

Is Chris Doyle the cinematographer again?

I'm a big fan of Zhang Ziyi...so I'm sure I will watch it. I read Entertainment Weekly and the grade is A-, so it must be a very good movie.

Yes. Still the usual iron triangle:
WONG Kar Wai as the director and writer;
Chris Doyle as the cinematographer;
William CHEUNG Shuk Ping as the editor and costume designer.

I am usually not to keen on Wong's films, but Doyle's cinematography is excellent. I have also been a big fan of Cheung Shuk-ping's work as visual designer....some of his HK pop album cover designs are awesome.

I haven't seen either of this series yet (though Mood is in the house), but let me recommend Kar Wai Wong's earlier Chungking Express also. Besides the great cinematography and innovative dual story structure, it really uses music well including a great scene with California Dreamin' by The Mamas and The Papas.
