MonkPlus is cleaner, leaner, more analytical sounding than ZS3
ZS3 isolates better (by design of cos :P), more spacious, more dispersed bass.

  Hi everyone,

I already ordered the ZS3 and Tennmak Pro, but I can't help but being curious about the VE monk plus allegedly amazing price:SQ ratio. So can anyone tell me how the VE monk plus would compare to the ZS3 and Tennmak Pro? Should I pick one up just for comparason/backup.

Thanks.

Monk+ are good but if you are interested in quality budget earbuds in general then you might find this thread useful:

Well after a long break since initially hating the monk+ signature in comparison, (approx 6 months+) i just threw them on to see how they sound on the iPhone 7 and my gawd did I miss these bad boys.. Going from monk to monk plus, the sound seemed so anorexic..

Sounds way better than I remember and I've been getting bored of my HD598 lol!

Apple music also seems to sound better than my FLAC/320 kbps collections?? Am I the only one?

Definitely not I was using android so I was listening to Spotify premium 320kbps then i switched to an iphone 5 listening to apple music. First thing I realised was it was not as smooth as mp3 320 and not as detailed. Then recently I switched back to android with FLACS. Smoothness is back detaild are back. Its hard to differentiate between flacs and mp3 320 for me. For some songs at least.

That's so f'ing weird. Between my smsl m2 + flac or 320/Apple Music and iPhone 7, I can seriously say I prefer the sound of my iPhone and Apple Music, not too sure why. Maybe all this schooling is making my brain turn into mashed potatoes... Time for a dac/amp upgrade ASAP lol! (College student problems)

Also, this isn't being streamed. Local vs local, my 320 seems worse than apple music 320.. Oh well. My love for the Monk(+) has been reborn.

Do correct me if I'm wrong but I thought Apple music is AAC 256 kbps. Perhaps your earpiece is more forgiving on the source thats why it sounds good.

Not just the monk, my HD598 feels the same. I looked up the apple music bitrate recently and my search lead me to believe it's 320 kbps.. So idk what I was reading if it's not. Still confused.

That said, I'd kill for a budget iem from VE.. :worried:

AAC 256 kbps is equivalent to MP3 320 kbps !

VE duke and duke ae are two of the best iems I've ever heard.

Am student. No afford. At that price I'd rather pick up another set of open cans :zipper_mouth:

Also, thanks music4mhell for clarifying.. The one thing I can't stand about my phone or apple is EVERYTHING has to be proprietary.. Such a nuisance. Forever disrupting the peace (sorta like VE in their markets) LOL

I have heard some really amazing setups. I have also heard the monk plus better than most headphones when given a great amplifier.

This combo is unfair how good this is though... Monk loves that extra voltage :)
