well, the law of supply and demand in its purest form, Monks v1 are discontinued so the price must go up, I hope that one day I will sell my 2 backup pairs and I won't know what to do with all the money :)

Three-way splitter from the KMF Audio headphone amp:
(1) Original Monk with full red covers;
(2) Monk Plus with Original red doughnut covers;
(3) Monk Plus with [thin] full blue covers.

Tennessee Ernie Ford singing "Sixteen Tons".
. . . and the  winner is: . . .
Too busy enjoying the the MUSIC right now to make a decision!

. . . later . . .
Vocals definitely more up-front and "there" with (1).  Glad I kept this pair!  Serious "jump" factor here.
Overall clarity, neutrality, balance, dimensionality, speed, etc., get the nod with (2).
Narrower/shallower soundstage and sharper treble with (3).

Rounding out the afternoon listening with "Shotgun Boogie" and (2).

$5 very well spent.

Once you start listening to Zen, it's very hard to go back to monk/monk+ or any midfi earbuds. IMHO, don't shoot me plz.

I prefer original Monk a lot of the time but I still use my Monk+ more. Monk+ is better for long term listening.

Part of the reason is I don't want my original Monks to break...

For a long time I didn't touch my Monk/Monk+ with Zen around but eventually started listening to Monk again. They all have a place. I overall listen to Monk more.
