I'm not a local so I'll refrain from any comments on the location, but I'm down for putting forward a small entrance fee if need be. Dates and times? Going off the past meets I've attended the best days for most people seem to be weekends. If it's a weekend date I'll make plans to attend.
 
Had a blast at the last Michigan meet and I'm looking forward to getting together with the group again.

I also would be willing to pay a "small" fee if we can find a place with more space.  Overture was great but we were shoulder to shoulder there and the amps really heated up the place.

I'm cool with a small fee to attend. I vote that we should have it in Lansing this time, I'm not sure of any venues, I would just like to drive less than 2.5 hours from Holland.

I just posted a link to this thread in the Michigan Head-Fier group page. It's 44 strong so I'm guessing you'll get some good suggestions on location.

My vote would be Overture if Keith is interested is hosting or a hotel in SE Michigan (sorry @PETEREK). Keith is just cool and we have had the best turnouts at his store. Alternatively, the hotel presents some unique opportunites such as the potential for additional vendor presence if desired as well as a place for out of towners to crash.

Another idea I was kicking around with Warren Chi before he became a business mogul...What about a true Detroit meet? Maybe something Shinola or Third Man would be interested in partnering up for? Possibly our own off-brand Can Jam, Detroit style?

Anyway, if you need any more big ideas without someone who can do the work, I'm your man!

Watch out for Rocky Mountain Audio Fest. We may lose some of our usual attendees to the annual festival in Colorado...I believe it's October 7-9.

Can't you just have the ceremony at the Head-Fi meet? We would support you wearing headphones during the ceremony.

Better late to the thread than never. I have no issues with a small fee. I also loved having it at Overture but I'm not sure they'd want to do two meets in one year.
