will anyone else here be watching the nba draft tonight?
still pissed off about chicago getting the 1st pick, i am praying that my knicks dont pick gallinari from italy.
i am expecting to see lots of interesting trades (i wanna see a lot of them done by the knicks. full of bums and fatties right now) during tonight's draft.
what's your favorite team, and whom do you want to draft?

Hmmm...I might break my self imposed sports exile to watch that tonight.

My favorite team would be the future Oklahoma City (fingers crossed) Barons (or whatever name they choose), and my wildest dream would Derrick Rose slipping to number four. yeah right

So, realistically, I would like them to take Westbrook, but the mocks are pointing toward Lopez. We shall see. Either way, the Barons

need a 1 or 5, so I just hope the pick pans out.

Would not say that the Memphis Grizzlies are my favorite team, but they are the one I am stuck with here in Memphis. I am hoping to see some trades, too.

I am hoping he slips to #5. That way the Grizzlies would have the possibility of being as entertaining as the University of Memphis Tigers this year.

I'm just about ready to give up on Sarver's Suns. Robin F'in Lopez? Seriously? 15th overall? Never thought of trading down to take this 1-dimensional big man? Wow, I'm glad we gave up Joe Johnson for Diaw and a backup center... awesome. I guess if the goal was to completely trash the franchise and turn us into the Hawks/Clippers, the mission is close to being acclomplished, excellent job Sarver and Kerr! Excuse me while I go beat the living tar out of my furniture...

The Blazers continue to completely dominate with brilliant trades and picks. Major props to Kevin Pritchard, the future is so bright in Portland, shades will be required even on all those rainy days!

I'm convinced Rod Thorn sold his soul to the devil, he lucked into Jordan in '84 and now keeps getting top talent to drop to him as the Nets GM.

My gosh, 5 of my beloved Kansas Jayhawks are gone to the NBA! Of them, I think Brandon Rush is the only sure star, and I'm not even so sure how bright his NBA career will be. But they sure played well together in college!

#13 Brandon Rush selected by Portland then traded to Indiana
#27 Darrell Arthur selected by Portland
#34 Mario Chalmers selected by Minnesota then traded to Miami
#52 Darnell Jackson selected by Miami
#55 Sasha Kaun selected by Seattle *

* Didn't even start at Kansas. Amazing.

Boston did well in this draft as it turns out, after the top few (5) picks, its always a crap shoot anyways depending upon team needs...

Both Giddens and Wallace fulfill the need in Boston of athleticisim and quickness with lenth at their positions, both above average defensive presence with energy, type guys off the bench. Also providing some tax relief with the movement of Tony Allen off the books as his replacement.

Should be a fun show with Rondos continued improvement and Giddens in the backcourt together when we go small ball second unit, I think

The biggest surprise to me was seeing CDR (Chris Douglas-Roberts) drop to the 40th pick in the draft. For most of last season, and in the prior seasons when Memphis was in the Elite Eight, he was one of the main reasons for it. No one in college basketball could guard him. I think his old school George Gervin type of game was not received well in his team tryouts. If I remember correctly, Gervin was actually pretty good.

It seems there was a heavy premium put on tall guys this year after the lottery selections. With Chalmers, CDR, and Arthur dropping like bricks, there should be some happy teams out there.

The Griz traded Love for Mayo, so at least there will be some initial excitement in Memphis to see him play (assuming he is not traded before the season starts). The Griz also traded up for Darrell Arthur, so if his kidney issue turns out to be nothing, he was a steal.

I'm not pissed about the Bulls getting Rose

and it seems your prayers weren't answered.

Mayo for Love trade was a little weird.
