Hi all, this is my first post her, and I'm just looking for recommendations, as this is my first time diving into the world of dedicated headphones.
 
I'm looking to buy some headphones for about $200 to use for both desktop gaming and portable listening to music on my S5, typically on long car rides with other people in the vehicle. This latter specification is why I'd prefer closed back, alongside the regular noise isolation. I'd also prefer not to need an Amp/DAC, but arrangements can be made.
 
One of the biggest things for me is comfort, though. I game for multiple hours, and those car rides can be LONG.

The ATH-M50X by Audio Technica would probably be your best bet.

Yeah, I was looking at the M50X, I was just wondering if there were any other options I ahould ponder. I also looked over the HD439, which didn't seem too bad.

The M50X has almost no sound stage, bad for gaming.  Get the ATH-A700X or A900X instead, or the 32 Ohm Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro.
