Would you use a high end interconnect (Cardas Neutral/Kimber KCAG) with a MG head Cambridge 500SE combo? I know Outlaws.

You could, but it would be better use of your money to get cheaper cables and upgrade your amp or source. For example, for the cost of the $200 cable, you could get a nice set of Outlaws and some great tubes for your MG Head. This would be more performance for hte money.

One of the more unfortunate aspects of this affliction is that one ends up purchasing both the $200 interconnects and the great tubes

And then nothing ever sounds the same again. Your TV sounds awful, your home theater sounds awful, you go on an upgrading spree, and when it's all said and done....

Wait a second...it's never done.

Disagree with that statement as good cable can do as much or more for your system than an upgrade in amp or source. And yes, I'd use $200+ cable in that system.

There is an element of truth in both assertions. The entire system is in fact a fine balance of each component working together with the rest. While you can certainly find satisfaction and improvement going to extremes in upgrading just one part of the system, my preference is always to try to find a nice balance. See avatar...
