hey friends,

I've seen at diykits they have 2 free upgrades:
A--Replace opa 2604 at high speed power supply with AD-08 to inprove the quality of sound.
B--Replace 2 opa 2604 at sound stage with LT-1057 to obtain higher extension and rigid bass at low .

Can someone please tell me what these mods do and how they change sound?

Thank you.

not sure about the opamp at the power supply

but DO NOT go with the LT1057s i REPEAT

if their performance in the Zhaolu D2.0 is any indication (mine came with them free as well) they are a change for the worse.

LM4562s are what you want to be dropping in there

Remove the old opamps from the sockets and place in the new ones

Ok, to remove them you might need something to jerk them out with, like a small screwdriver for example. And be careful not to bend the legs too much when you pull them out.

Oh, and I agree with d-dee, the LT1057s are bad. The standard OPA2604s are nice, especially with Sennheisers IMO. Of course I would recommend to ditch the opamps altogether and get a Zapfilter

Is Digi-Key the best place to buy the LM4562 (DIP 8) or do you recommend somewhere else?

Hit the sample sample button for the LM4562NA (these are the ones you want). Ship for about $10 where I am in NY. Yes you must register ect... but check the prices first. http://www.national.com/pf/LM/LM4562.html I got 3 "samples" for that price not sure how many you need though.
