First, Happy to join this community and looking forward to interacting with the members more!

I've spent time reading the thread at https://www.head-fi.org/threads/best-studio-headphones.702924

A lot useful information.

After trying to digest as much as I can and considering my budget and requirements, I've got it dwindled to a couple of options

I'm ideally looking for 1 cheaper monitoring can for guests etc. and 1 nicer can for mixing and post work

Sony MDR 7510 ~100$ (guest monitoring etc. beater pair)
(A while ago I head the AT MX40, but sold them, they got uncomfortable after long listening.)

Option 1:
Sony MDR 7520 ~240$

Option 2:
Sennheiser HD6XX 175$

The HD6XX at 175$ is very tempting, esp. since I've never had an open back headphones, but I've heard they're great for mixing.

Bonus:
Wireless option for everyday use?
WH-1000XM3 (no usb-c though )

For audio production (mixing, editing, creating, etc) Sony MDR-V6 or MDR-7506.
Usually good prices on used ones (eBay).

I can't imagine using the 6xx/650 for mixing. They're deliberately not neutral.

What makes you prefer those over the MDR-7510 ? (it seems in some sense they are designed for the same purpose) (I'm also not a huge fan of the MDR 7506 look, and same with the MDR-v6 on video)

I'm not familiar with the MDR-7510, so can't really comment on them.
