For a friend - any thoughts??

Less is definitely better, with more not really something he even wants to consider. He would also be open to 2.1s (showed him my Klipsch Promedias, and did check on Swan M10s, which are now out of stock). He's into mostly indie style music, with some rock in there.

Insignia Bass Reflex!!!! Seriously. Yes it's the Best buy house brand. And if you're not familiar with them, google and you'll find alot about em from audiophile forums, the hype really is valid. $500 sound for ~$80
