Hi Gentlemen !
 
For now I have to decided to stick with the two AKGs in the title
I am liking the old K280 with velour earpads taken from the 242HD ... am I deaf ???

 
Now the question ... a suggestion of a solid state amp
Problem as usual .. I live in Europe and purchasing from USA very unfortunately is not that simple

(what an envy ... )
My budget would be 200$ max
I prefer a strong grip on drivers (i.e. low impedance output amp) because my feeling is that the sound (expecially with the 242) is a little too full ...
I prefer a controlled sound
I have to say the the 280 are quite clearly more controlled using the same amp (presently this one ...
 

 
Maybe the two drivers are smaller ... do not know.
