Anyway, any suggestions for what the best FPS game is for the 360 for multiplayer purposes. I was thinking of picking up COD4, as that seems to always be raved about yet I have never played it.

The first games that come to mind just for multiplayer experience are Left 4 Dead and CoD4. Left 4 Dead multiplayer is just endless hours of mind blowing fun...provided your other 3 teammates have half a brain and are the least bit competent. If they are not, then failure and frustration are guaranteed to be in your future.

CoD4 would be a good choice mainly because the game play mechanics between CoD4 and 5 are pretty much identical, so there would be no 'learning curve' for you whatsoever. I honestly can't say that the multiplayer in CoD4 gets as intense as it does in Left 4 Dead, but it is still tons of fun none the less.

Other options would be (of course) Halo 3 and Gears of War 2 (horde mode is just unbelievably fun, but this game play mode also requires a fair amount co-operation and teamwork of you and your teammates).

I used to be in the number 4 team in guildwars, as well as the number 14th and 25th (the 25th which eventually fell into the 30s and 50s), I also led a team to be ranked 23rd in the world preview event of guildwars (go pvp and hk lol).

I used to play more pinball than anything else at the arcade. A dream addition for my game room that doesn't exist yet is the Addams Family and Twilight Zone Pinball machines.

Sweet! How long did it take you? I got the highest score in a game I made too called TSO (Tap Spacebar Once).

Some were easier than others, I was particularly good at the ones where I was able to forge my score. :P

Yeah, I played Halo 3 (and finished it) quite a while ago know and didn't really find it much more then you're average shotter. I'll agree with you on gears of war 2 and L4D though. They are brilliantly fun (though L4D as you said does have the problem of some moron who on purpose or not keeps on killing everyone. I think i'll have to pick of COD4.

Ever since I was a young boy, I played the silver ball. From Soho down to Brighton, I must have played them all, but I ain't seen nothin' like him in any amusement hall, that deaf, dumb, blind kid sure plays a mean pinball!
