Summary:

XBA01: 

Uses special isolating gel. No brightness in treble section, and have a fake soundstage. The reviewer did not like this one at all.

 

XBA02:

The "flattest" response out of the 4, flavorless, but with good low end performance.

 

XBA03:

The reviewer recommends this the most out of the 4. Excellent vocal reproduction (clear and bright), with good reproduction of highs and lows. Bass does not cover any details, and excels at piano accompanies.

 

XBA04:

Less smooth than XBA03 because the super woofer covers details. Good for pop. This is probably aimed at the consumer market due to its pleasing sound signature. (Very bassy)

XBA4 is gonna be $300+. They are trying to compete with Sennheiser & co; I wouldn't be surprised in the XBA-4 is designed to compete for the IE8 market.

There's a whole market entirely around the IE8? That's news to me...

XBA-4 price in Taiwan is about 15000 NT dollars, but I predict the street price may be lower to 12000 NT dollars which is equal to 400 US dollars.

I don't think so. People will die for that Xtreme Bass. An IE8 with 4 drivers. Better separation, etc.
