My current amp appears to be identical to Sophia Baby except for output pentode type. It pairs quite well with my K1000.

Akwok was looking at that amp yesterday. He linked me that pic on aim yesterday.

I don't know about the K3000 but for the AKg K1000 I would recommend tubes. The Audiovalve RKV MKII (buy it used) with the K1000 is a wonderful match. This is also a fact confirmed by many, many other K1000 owners.

I didn't like the Dynahi + K1000 combination personally. Transparent and resolving but also cold and bright. From the headphones I tried the Dynahi / Dynamight with, the K1000 was my least favourite next to HD 650, PS-1 and RS-1. Anyway, these are meet impressions so take it for what it's worth.

You know, I don't know why you insist on 1/4" jack -- you're killing me! Three leads instead of four? Think about what that's doing to separation. I mean, if you insist on ease of use, get one of those four-lead XLR jacks (or whatever they are), and connect them to the speaker terminals permanently, and disconnect and reconnect at the XLR jack -- it would be just as convenient. If you want 1/4" for another reason, please fill me in (I may have missed it if it's already in the thread).
