I am looking for another sub $100 area over ear for edm/pop I want something with the best vocals possible with wide sound stage or something that sounds fun. I prefer open but don't mind close. Some headphones I enjoy are the fidelio X1 and my dunu dn1k. I don't mind trying out different sig headphones either. I be using these with my nx1+fiiox1

Audio technica m50 or the m40x

Brain wavz hm5

Grados sr60e or sr80e

Mm I haven't. I looked at some reviews and they are comparing them to the hd650 and how they sound alike?. I might buy one of them for around $43 used and save up some money and buy the sr60e to or buy the sr60e and pick up the a1000 later

Yeah, it's more airy than the Fidelio X1. Superb for the money.

How would you compare the pioneer to the HD 650 and maybe the HD 800? Even though they are like 400-$1000 Apart I am just curious

HD650 is much more precise, clean and resolving.
SE-A1000 is a little bit more airy.

HD800 is brighter and much more clinical than both SE-A1000 and HD650.
HD800 is a monster headphone, it blast everything around with quite a margin.
It's too neutral and often bright for certain recordings/listeners, but technically speaking, it's impressive.

Untrainned listeners might claim that SE-A1000 is on pair with HD650/K702 or any other headphone, but it's not.
That said, SE-A1000 is definitely a top performer under 100 dollars.

(Something similar happens with the Fidelio X1, very little trained listeners will put them in the same league as HD600/HD650, but there's plenty of
newcomers that find them more fun and prefer them over technically superior headphones)

SE-A1000 is probably on the same playground as the Fidelio X1.

SE-A1000 is a tad more neutral and airy.
The Fidelio is thicker with more focused imaging.
Both are well built but the Fidelio is definitely luxurious by comparison.

Thank you. I listen to the HD 800 650 and the ps1000e first time it was amazing!
I heard huge difference between 650 and 800 but I couldn't really tell the difference between the 800 and the ps1000e expect th 800 had little more. Would you say I have untrained ears lol

Haha! There's always room to train ourselves
The thing is that when you spend enough time doing critical listening with top quality recordings (weeks, months, years), comparing stuff, your hearing/brain adjusts somehow.
Spend two or three months with PS1000e, then two or three months with HD800 and you'll surely find bigger differences among them.

Oops I meant to say little more soundstage but if I already have the HD 558 people say it's better is there a point say getting a m50x?

SE-A1000 should sound more open than HD558
M50x is on the bassy side of things with little soundstage.

Apples and oranges... you know.

If I were you, I would save for something like the AKG K7XX
