Fantastic - I'll look forward to your review with interest.  And maybe you'd also take the time to review some of your current gear in future as well then  ........
or does it need to be linked to a possible prize to make it worthwhile for you ......

I review gear once I'm able to replace it. I cannot look at something well until I've been able to see it's weaknesses and flaws. I have no obligation to review any of my gear. There is no duty to the community. I have reviewed two audio products here as well.

Chances are, if you need to make a comment small to say it, you shouldn't say it at all.

I received my A 200 P!

Initial impressions were done with my Note 3>Power Amp>included USB cable>A 200 p> HFM HE-300.

I tested a mix of 96/24, 16/44.1 FLAC and 320Kbps MP3.

I'm not gonna bother with the looks, accessories, packaging, etc. until my final write-up. This is just initial impressions.

The bass is handled very well, with no apparent boost. It is very quick, accurate and has a nice texture. The best example of the texture is the representation of the bass guitar in the verses of Forfiet by Chevelle. The plucks on the strings can be heard clearly while my ears are still properly vibrated with the note itself.

The mid-range seems somewhat bright, leaning towards the high-mids. The low-mids are not lacking, though. In Slow Cheetah by Red Hot Chili Peppers, the acoustic guitar has a very natural timbre, and Anthony's voice sounds exceptionally natural. Remember Everything by Five Finger Death punch shows the strength of the low-mids as well with the gritty vocals and layered guitars. The high mids showed to be exceptional. The trumpets in Act III of Serj Tankian's ORCA sent chills down my spine. Imogen Heap's voice in The Moment I Said It also showed how exceptional the mid-range is through this device.

The treble is either neutral or slightly boosted to my ears. My preferences are dark, so I have a hard time telling. While being more present than I like, this treble showed a shocking amount of accuracy and control. At anything short of nearly painful volumes, there was no sibilance. Cymbals had a more natural decay than I have ever heard, and I had no issues differentiating the plucks of guitar strings from the whine of the violins and trumpets, and the layered voices were easy to understand because of the exceptional separation of the consonant sounds.

Got my review sample, too.  :)  Putting the little (and I mean *little*) guy through his paces as I type.

Looking forward to reviewing this properly.

Received the review unit too.  Currently, I'm listening to it hooked up to a MacBook Air and playing back 24/96 files.  I'm going to charge it overnight and then try it as a portable DAC with an iPhone 5.

It will be probably a week before I will start posting impressions.  I want to do comparisons with the other portable DACs I have and also give its portability a try -- especially hooked up as an iPhone DAC.

Also, I got the go-ahead from beyerdynamic to bring the A 200 p to the Dallas head-fi meet on June 1st, which is still in my return window.

Question for the testers - or for our Beyer rep.

Has anyone had success with Android devices?  I've tried it with my wife's Samsung mini, and my daughter's Asus Memo Pad 8 (running Android 4.2.2).  The unit is fully charged.  I've plugged both devices - neither has been recognised.  Is there anything extra I have to do?

I tried it with a colleague's iPhone5 today and it worked perfectly.

Most of my use so far has simply been as a USB Dac with Windows devices (desktop and laptop), and it's worked flawlessly.  Unfortunately my iDevices are 30 pin reliant (iPhone4, iPod Touch G4, and iPad2) - so unless the connection comes for the 30 pin devices, I'm kind of limited in what I can review.

Any help with the Android devices would be appreciated.  Android is not my forte.

Works fine with my note 3. I have to plug it in and then start playing music.

OK - then either device or version dependent, or I have a faulty unit.

I'll just have to review based on USB to PC ......

You might like to try this:

I believe it lets you use some USB DACs on some phones which don't have native support. There is a free trial version linked to from that page which is just as well with all those "some"s...
