It depends on the quality of either dish and the type of food you're in the mood for.

Ramen is a much heavier dish, so I tend to prefer udon for its simplicity (egg vs wheat flour noodle). In the article Tom posted, the historian prefers soba, which is usually lighter than either dish.

Can't stand soba. I find the taste of soba kinda nasty.

I really like how chewy udon is above all things. The noodles itself in a bowl of ramen always feel so plain and boring. But maybe that's because I've always regularly eaten many types of pasta. Ramen tastes a lot like spaghetti, but udon most definitely doesn't.

Well-prepared ramen still has some chew in the noodles while still being firm. Alkaline noodles are the good stuff.

Udon usually has chewy noodles anyway, so it might be the case that the ramen you've had was made differently?

Maybe. I've only eaten non-instant ramen one or two times. You just don't see it very often in this country.

Did you see all the OVAs? They're very different and much more mature than the series.

Yeah I've seen them.

Is this sarcasm or sincerity? Everything Saito did was memorable. XD

The only thing Kenshin I will ever watch is this incredible OVA:

Everything else just doesn't look like I would enjoy it.
And don't tell me the remaining 7398320 episodes are on the same level of quality!

Yeah I've seen them.

Okay, because two of them came out in 2011/2012.

Yeah, Trust & Betrayal was awesome. I heard it was rated NC-17 on some copies, even though it's technically not a movie.

You really do enjoy dropping things before you begin, don't ya? =D I couldn't be so close-minded if I tried... (No offense.)

Since you aren't going to watch the show anyway, you could just watch episode 60, which is one of the best ones.

That reminds me...since you also decided to never watch Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni, you might as well take a moment to read all the sick stuff that happens in the series.

Bear in mind that those descriptions don't touch upon the phenomenal plot and why it is such a well-regarded anime.

It was mostly quite boring as far as I can remember. But do note that long term memory heavily polarizes how I view a show.

The epic parts were few and far between, I will admit.

I really do. I'm not one of these "I give every show a chance because I'm a ******* hippie"-persons. I know my preferences quiet well after watching close to 100 shows and movies.
For example, I can safely say that I would not make it through one episode of Queens Blade, Jewelpet Kira Deco, Kuroko no Basket or Hunter x Hunter.
Don't tell me you never dismissed a movie/show/band or whatever without giving it a shot. That would really surprise me.

How do you even remember something like this?

Ugh....reading these descriptions does make me curious how they managed to make all this not look like some ****ty slasher movie/gore porn for the easily amused.
Not curious enough though.

This.

Rejecting to watch shows is not necessarily close mindedness. If it is based on previous experience of disliking seemingly similar shows, then it is definitely acceptable. Of course, it might turn out to be good after all, but that's not the point. Based on previous experiences you can estimate the chance of you liking it to be low; below something like 5% easily. Whereas there may be other shows around that have a much higher chance of being like, above 80% even. You'd only watch the 5% show under heavy peer pressure, if at all, rationally speaking.

It's all about efficiency. Even if based on estimations, the arguments are still rock solid.

I've dismissed plenty of things, but with anime, I generally find that you have to wade through the mud to get to the good stuff, even with the best ones.

How do I remember the episode number? I looked it up to be sure I referenced the right one.

It's a seriously epic episode, though.

Yeah, only about 10% of the show is violent, really. It's mostly a perplexing plot that makes no sense until you've seen the first two seasons.

I really don't agree with this statement. Why would I do that if I can just look up good animes? Ones that are objectively good.
I do watch stuff like SAO etc from time to time but only because they are unintentionally funny. Not to remind me that there are more bad than good animes out there or whatever.

You had me worried for a second.

Oh great, another one of these. You seem to like shows that have a lot of nothing in them with only a few awesome bits in them. That's also Blood-Cs selling point, isn't it? :p
