You sure mate? I auditioned the HD800 with an O2 and it sounded pretty loud even at low gain.

If I was sure that would mean I took the HD800 home with me and try it on my desktop rig LOL
The dude at the headfoneshop doesn't like it when I start sticking things in his wall socket.
I just paid for my CIEM, now I can't eat sushi. Tbh O2 should be enuf, seen some people using it with HD800 on reddit.
Longing for sushi, gotta need the money by selling HD800 and downgrade to 650 or sidegrade to HE-560.
Maybe my preferences kinda shifted or maybe I just don't see the point in having high end headphones anymore... Gonna lose the soundstage tho.

The only reasoning that convinced me there is that your preferences shifted. Other than that I don't see any reason to sell away a (possibly) prized possession.

Eugh, this is probably the only forum thread I can trust since everyone here listens to japstuff. I don't trust reviews anywhere else because they mostly consist of old people who have hugely different tastes in headphones. Like V-Moda M100's (in which I thought were somewhat horrid) and Sennheisers HD5--/6-- which sound incredibly slow for my likes. *cough* Tyll.

gg he-560.

Just because you count your waifu as part of you, doesn't mean you're alone.

Hey, chill m8. You can sell dat HD800.
Only thing that you need is beats.
All the artist and football payers use it so it has the best sound out there.
LOL
If you want my honest answer (you probably shouldnt want my honest nor dishonest answer cuz i didnt hear lots of headphones) you will probably be ok with a pair of HD600s. I mean even orchestra artists use them when practising. And btw you still are not buying the real sound even if you buy Orpheus. Not to mention that vocals use something like 3k microphones for really high quality recordings (if i am not wrong). And that is the best thing in studios that artist can use. So your ordinary jpop artist will probably using a cheaper mic.

Trust no one.
Ok, I'll try to acquire HE-560 after I get my CIEM to see if my preferences really shifted.
To be blunt, HD800 doesn't go well with my FELT music which is mostly J-rock/electro. Too piercing

Beats don't make open back that's comfy enuf :frowning2:
HD600 is probably too bass light, but I don't know, never own em, only heard em.
My dad likes it tho but he got K7XX already.

I chose the HE-560 in particular because the graphs showed they're a bright planar. Bright planars don't happen often for technical reasons, and my moe moe vocals suffer from something like the likes of the HE-400.
The HD600 is far from bass light, but they don't make your moe moe vocals sound sweet and magical. They buffed my waifu and gave her abs. That's not what I want from a magical happy waifu.

Also if they're piercing like most beyerdynamics I've heard, I might actually skip the HD800 and consider my original more affordable choices which were the HE-560 and Shure 1840. I've heard issues about grainy treble and distorted bass in the 1840.. Not sure how I feel about that with a <$600 headphone.

K7xx and HD600 are both high quality headphones in my opinion. Heck even most of the sound engineers use K701, so they only can hear things which k701 and their studio monitor can give. I dont know if there is really huge diffrence after mid-fi tier headphones but i dont think there will be so much diffrence. Even if there is, even your sound engineer isnt hearing them :D
Oh and you can always use a DT990 with Eq if you want bass.

Safety concerns are a good reason for not letting people do things. I stick plugs in wall sockets all the time!

I liked the HD600 for classical though, I can give you that. I absolutely loved it for classical, but not for anything else.
I also preferred my AKG Q701 over a DT990 and DT880, I'd rather touch a wall socket than touch EQ ><
The only reason I heard so many headphones is because I return headphones a lot... A LOT.

I'm not saying I'm not satisfied with my rig, I absolutely love it. Although I know there's something more out there and I wan' it.

After spending some time in an actual studio, sound engineers base their recordings off what they hear live in the studio. At least that's what I found, and it's easy to think that what you hear off the headphone is the same as hearing it live.

There is a difference after mid-fi, and it's basically investing more money to solve money problems, but y'know...

When I tried it, I thought it wasnt all that bright.
I liked vocals on my SR-202... But the problem is they're super uncomfy. Dammit, Stax is a really capable headphones but their design is terrible.

Also, I thought I saw 1840 for $275 on head fi classifieds just yesterday, if it hasn't been sold yet.
And if I could find HD650 for cheap, I think I'll go for it instead of 560. More money can be saved.

Yea K7XX is really good, but my dad wanted a pair of headphones so I gave it to him and gave myself a reason to upgrade :D
Also, I don't like tinkering with EQ.

I saw that.
My wallet's telling me yes, my education's telling me no. I'm sure I can pick it up for <$400 from someone else at some point this year because people are bashing on the 1840 pretty hard.

Some guy went to 4chan saying he works for Brazzers and is writing a meme-filled porn movie and was asking for meme suggestions.

Turns out, apparently he was for real.

Someone tell the guy to just watch hentai and use those quotes. Or give him my favourite set: http://pastebin.com/GsVGNzjp

It makes me cringe when people try too hard to make memes.

To me, HE-560 was too bright and screechy. Probably HD650 would work well.

But why not just get STAX SR-007s instead? :p

And to @Nec3 looking for headphones, seeeeriously try STAX!!! With the yen so cheap a 2170 system is under $500 USD from Japan, with the amp and headphones includes! And they may creak sometimes but they are decently durable.

LOL, I lost it when I got to line 30. Now people are looking at me weird in class. XD

MC and his fetishes. First kissing back of knees, now kissing bellybuttons. What's next?
