I don't get it.
What is this thing doing and how is it doing these things?

Obviously this is marketed towards professional users who actually use in-ear MONITORS as monitors, not just for fancy audio listening and showing off to your friends. Of course some audiophools are going to buy this and say it improves the audio quality by 9001% because that's how new products work in the audiophile world.

I'm guessing this box is like another amplifier in the chain, with regards to the impedance thing. High output impedance sources, as you probably know, are terribad for multiple-driver in-ear earphones. The input impedance is probably really large for the box and the output impedance is really low such that a high-impedance source won't affect the performance of said monitors as much. The specs indeed say that the box has unity gain.

EDIT: Well there you go:

In electronics, impedance matching is the practice of designing the input impedance of an electrical load or the output impedance of its corresponding signal source to maximize the power transfer or minimize signal reflection from the load.

Yeah I was asking because I already read one review that had a lot of the usual audiophool talk in it. More dynamic, faster, accurate blablabla.
Sounds like a handy tool for musicians though.

I think it's some kind of peak detect clamping circuit thingy, with a buffer for low output impedance no matter what the source.

It's probably just a couple of diodes at the input, feeding into an opamp buffer.

So it's probably totally worth the 200 bucks.

No longer banned on MAL :p

You Satan believer now?

I'm definitely a Satin believer.

Audiophools never cease to amaze me.

I'd be surprised if the actual electronics inside costed more than the pair of batteries it needs, even if it uses a pair of compressor circuits. (those damn coin cells are like $5-$7 a pop here)

Who knows? there might be DSP inside doing look-ahead compression

Finished the cat route in Nekonade Distortion~

It's one of those games with one true end so I'll have to finish the entire game.... Not much is making sense at this point.
The writer does try to explore some of the themes Philosophy and Quantum Mechanics which is a breath of fresh air for me.

Beautiful medley. This piano has a brighter timbre than the usual Steinway.

Almost break my heart again..............

Btw, for people who are going to watch "Clannad" and "Clannad After Story",
DO NOT just judge it by the former, the former is kind of crappy I would say honestly.
But you HAVE TO watch the former in order to understand the latter.

You WILL NOT be disappointed !
"Clannad After Story" is truly a masterpiece !
