Think of Jerry Harvey's JH13- a few consider this as the pinnacle of headphone world.
As I can observe, this tiny earphones don't need big amps, big DACs, big cables, big Sources, etc... It's just simple.

At this days, I just like simplicity.

i think what he was saying was that he liked the jh-13s

which is also what i woudl reccomend. They sound great straight out of an ipod, but they definitely get better with better amplification and dacs, like im using the dac19 and the protector. So i dont see myself upgrading my dac anytime soon, since i dont need a balanced dac. But yeah, the 13's are simple, put them in your ears, plug them into a dap, and start enjoying

and yet you still have an upgrade path to make them better, the best of both worlds.

Yes I could easily live with the JH13 as my only headphone but I'm glad I don't have to

Yes as Duggeh mentioned, whether or not that includes budget for a headphone amp is important.

Personally i'd go planar

. Something like a used Stax 007 plus eXstata (might JUSTTT fit into your budget if you hunt around)

I'd be very very very surprised if you can get an O2 for less than £1000. Sterling is in the toilet.

Not to mention you don't see people selling their O2's very often.

In the good old days £1000 would have been about $1900. Which would have been enough, maybe. Not now. O2s come up for sale often enough, they're not ultra rare.

the £1000 will just be for headphones, have the ps audio ghca as a amp and getting the CA 840c as source. If i sale most my audio gear might even get the ps1000's and jh16. Is this worth doing? also anyone heard the jh13/16 with the ibasso t3 amp (which i have)?
thanks guys for you views so far
