New Head-Fier
Surprisingly competent, for old, "free" buds
Pros: Smaller diameter
Lightweight
Cons: Only one pair of foam pads
Cheap cable
A quick foreword to this short review; the pair that I'm using are old, around 2011-2013 I'm guessing, but the foam pads had entirely disintegrated so I'm using a third party pad from Faaeal. Medium thickness and fairly high density.

The fit is quite good. These have a smaller diameter than MX500 shells and they sit deeper in my ear where they are less prone to shifting around. The stems are shorter and slim at the bottom so they don't fight for space the way MX500 seem to do with my jaw and beard.

The bass is only a bit stronger than neutral, but they end up with a boomy quality. It feels like too much upper bass and too much energy through the mids. They have no sub-bass to speak of, and if you wanted to try applying EQ, at least for my pair, they distort before you can bring on a satisfying amount of energy through the sub-bass and mid-bass.

With these Faaeal foams, the buds are dark. They don't bring a lot of energy through the treble but I think they do have some ear gain that makes them feel unnatural to me. The stage ends up feeling decently wide, but the depth seems quite shallow.

I'm glad these are in good working order. I think there's some value to keeping an old pair around to compare to the new stuff. They avoid being too bright, or missing a sense of bass. Rather easy to listen to, but won't inspire with their sound. For me, they are at least okay, however these are sure to be one of my least used pair of buds.
