Intro
What comes after spring? Right, summer and accordingly REECHO in cooperation with PEACOCK continues its series logically with the SUMMER. A specially developed dual dynamic driver, which was also used in the SPRING, is under the hood of the SUMMER, only this time the additional BA driver is not used.

The result is a bright IEM that relies on a V-signature, with a slight bass boost and a clearly raised high frequency.

Handling
As far as the scope of delivery of the SUMMER is concerned, it is one to one similar to that of the SPRING, which is already extraordinarily lavish and of high quality.

Even though the housing is a bit larger, I have to say that it is even more comfortable to wear than the SPRING. This is of course very subjective, as I also have very large ears, but despite the universal design, the SUMMER fits me like a glove, which also gives me excellent isolation.

The choice of tips is huge (silicone & foam) and the cable (2-pin) is one of the best I've got as a supplement to IEMs.
The very good "superficial" impression is rounded off with a leatherette hardcover case with ample space, cable help and snap hook. In addition, the faceplate, where blue, cyan and purple are used as colours, is always unique in terms of pattern. The case is blue-transparent, which also makes the driver very easy to see.

Sound
After the more neutral, bright SPRING, I expected a warmer and more fun IEM with the SUMMER, appropriate to the season. This assumption is partly confirmed, because the V-signature seems to be the right way, but I did not expect the quite prominent high tone, which walks on a narrow degree.

The dual driver clearly has its strengths in the bass reproduction. It is very precise, detailed and fast. The good three dB more compared to the SPRING (when the two frequency responses at 1 kHz are superimposed) are very beneficial to the bass. The bass retains its very good technical characteristics, but gets more authority in the subrange and a fuller punch. This allows it to provide sufficient level to any genre without ever overdriving or overshadowing other areas. Nevertheless it is not a direct recommendation for bassheads, because it lacks the desired rumble, which I find positive in this case. It is extremely clean and simple on point. Here there is very little to complain about for me.

Compared to the SPRING, the mids are a bit more subdued, but that doesn't have a negative effect. They sound slightly warmer and fuller, but without losing their clarity, and bring a refreshing energy with them. Basically, I like the mids of the SUMMER almost even better than those of the SPRING, which can sometimes seem a bit thinner. However, the prominent trebles of the SUMMER have a say in this respect, which means that I can't always speak of a relaxed listening experience, although the mids alone can't be blamed for this and would have much more potential with reduced trebles, and even really impress with their clarity, resolution and separation.
As with the SPRING, I find the natural reproduction of voices very successful, especially with male vocals.

Let's get to the crux of the SUMMER, which certainly generates very controversial opinions.
The treble is no longer reproduced by an additional BA driver, but is also covered by the dual dynamic driver. If you only look at the graph in comparison with the SPRING, you should be afraid, because there was already a lot to the SPRING. It's not quite that bad, even though on paper we are talking about an increase of up to 8 dB. Yes, the SUMMER is bright and the peak around 6 kHz is clearly audible, but still mostly bearable. This range gives more presence to some instruments, but also voices, which sometimes seems a bit unnatural, but at the same time provides a distinct transparency. This can cause astonishment, but sometimes unfortunately also leads to lowering the volume to be able to hear the song further. Fortunately, this is not the rule and here it becomes clear that BA drivers, for example, can become more unpleasant faster at lower levels than is usually the case with dynamic ones. Of course, this is also a question of the quality of the individual drivers and therefore not a general statement.
Sibilants are present, but not stronger than with SPRING and therefore no negative criticism.

What I was already enthusiastic about the SPRING, I am also enthusiastic about the SUMMER. The stage is airy and spacious. Because of the excellent and sharp separation of the musical information, one really has to pay a compliment here.

Outro
Like the SRING, the SUMMER is an IEM from which I relieve the marketing and can make a reference to the naming through the sound.
Pushing, clean bass, warm, detailed and energetic mids, as well as sparkling and transparent highs.
Even though we often long for a cool down in summer, I found this too obvious in the high frequencies. There are songs where it's too aggressive for me and also slightly drifts into the artificial. That's a bit of a pity, because otherwise the SUMMER would have had a bit more potential, because in my opinion the technical characteristics of the self-developed driver are enormous. Nevertheless, the SUMMER is a very good IEM, which can improve a lot with a little digital tutoring.
