But knowing what I know now, after going into burn-in with 2 planar IEMs. I would simply burn them in for 70 hours then start my listening, as it’s way too confusing otherwise! But live and learn.

Between the Tin Hifi P1max and the Raptgo Hook-X is there one you would consider to be a better all-rounder?

That’s such an important and great question. Still I don’t have an answer? I normally would have an answer, but here they are both good and well rounded. I’m actually still learning about qualities....like which one is better at vocals? There still is a lot of questions. I’ll get back to you......though I may be leaning toward the HOOK-X? The Panda pinna gain maybe makes the HOOK-X the more well rounded player? Also maybe the way the HOOK-X does bass makes it more well rounded, though the Panda bass is amazing, and of course slightly different!

As far as the Panda goes, if you study the comparison graph.
They just don’t sound as similar as the graph makes it out to be? Especially the way they graph in the 2k-5k? Though it maybe the 5k-6k difference I'm hearing? Also the Panda bass is tight but not AS tight sounding and recessed as the graph would have you believe? But, who knows that may be just how this Panda style of bass graphs?

Thank you, I ordered both and will see which work best with my library 😊 but both differences seem to appeal to different preferences of mine - it seems like there should be no bad choices.

Lol, yes you can’t lose as they are complementary and both special. They are so very different from what each other is, all the while being in a way the same. The bass is less with the Panda, but darn is it fast! That graph may be exactly right, though I only look at graphs after reviews so they don’t mess up what I hear by suggesting frequency features. But also this is a perfect example of the graph not telling the whole story as if you listen they are not that close to being the same. The soundstage, the imaging etc...etc....are all different. Enjoy!

Imr Rah and PB one had the plannar/piezo combination before the Hook X. Great review as per usual 👍🏿

Absolutely concur mate, these are just different level, how people can even compare to the 7hz and s12 are really missing something. There's something about the presentation that puts me in mind of when I (in the good old days) was lucky enough to have a really high end Wilmslow Audio set up, a clarity and near perfection to timber. I think unless you've heard true high end (appreciate this was still only a 7-8k not $1000000 system) you don't realise what that 'near' perfect presentation is.

I love the contrast of HeadFi and how different we all hear headphones. To read this review and then jump down to the very next one, "Mid-range lacks detail and resolution... If you're looking for something that is clear, crisp, and forward, with the sound and presentation that is fast and hi-definition, this isn't the one you're looking for". I promise you I'm not saying that to promote one review over another, as both are excellent reads and from two very good contributors in HeadFi. Just pointing out how hard it can be when researching potential buys... Tho that's the fun I guess 😉.

You would be better off jumping over to the HOOK-X thread I started. Simply look up HOOK-X Head-Fi and you will get a link. These reviews were written were before the HOOK-X came out. Literally the first days of it being out in the wild.

Now that the HOOK-X has been out a while there are lots of options on it. Jumping down to the review before was the very first review. Antroid may have had a slightly different build on that review. Again you can read his post review comments in the HOOK-X thread.

But as a whole it’s probably the best seller I have reviewed this year, with a bunch sold. Check out the thread.

A bit off topic, but I ordered the Raptgo Leaf... I'm hoping it's an IE900 killer...:smirk_cat:

The IEM in-question caused me to write the above review the way I did. End of story.

Back to the Hook, I'm listening to Ziggy Stardust, and the electric guitar is mesmerizing...the texture and the growl... it's amazing!
