Awesome review Max. Probably going to pick one up to play around with. I personally like the silver on black look.Would you say there is value in buying the Pro model? Thanks for the review.

Thanks!!

Great review.
I really like the output features on the Matrix, looks like it could be used as a basic audio interface with the 1 XLR input.

@HB - I certainly prefer the Pro over the normal. It is more expensive though. Some of that is the remote of course. I think it's worth the extra cost.
@tanzanite88 - I listed the resampling rate I used with the Pro - DSD128 using 50kHz setting for headphones, 60kHz setting for my speakers (yours may vary)

Nice review. I'd be curious to see a side by side with the Yulong D100.

Thanks for writing this up. I've been lusting over the X-Sabre for a little while now.

Amazing feedback ! Buying on ebay right now!

Maxvla
I'd advise against eBay if you have an official source in your area. eBay units will not have any warranty/technical support. Use your local authorized Matrix distributor. In Canada that's Grant Fidelity. In the USA that is www.matrix-digi-usa.com.

Thanks for your advise .
But i have no choice.
I'm living in Seberia and there is only one way to get it .
Even in Moscow i didn't find it

I would be interested to know how it compares to iDSD.

I bought my first Mini-i on eBay a few years ago and have had absolutely no problems with it. It's always a bit of a gamble buying direct from China, but if you are careful at looking into repair/warranty policies beforehand there should be few problems. There are some very reputable dealers on eBay and to paint them all with the same brush is unfair.
I have saved a lot more money buying through eBay than it has ever cost me for warranty issues!
The Mini-i might be the exception now (if there is a dealer in your country) as Grant Fidelity in Canada seems to be selling at or near the same price as eBay sellers. If you do have any problems it would likely cost less to address them if you are able to buy through a Matrix dealer.

I'm not painting the eBay sellers with any brush, merely stating that any official warranty or support will not be honored if you buy through that source. You are then at the mercy of said eBay seller instead of guaranteed support from Matrix. If you have experience with a reputable seller, feel free to buy.

If it's brand new product you always have manufacturer warranty regardless of from whom you buy it.
This should be (and probably will be) the go-to review for this product.
Thank you.
