Awesome review. The RE400 has had build quality issues on and off. How does the RE600 build quality compare? The packaging looks awesome as well. Thanks for the review buddy!
@RedJohn456 : Thank you Tamal. I'm aware early builds of RE400 had issues, but later it got updated with a new cable and a much better build quality. I still have my RE400 in rotation and never had an issue. These RE600 have a nice build quality as well, no complains. Of course, time will tell how they hold up, but so far I'm impressed. Packaging indeed is awesome, and "appropriate" for $400 IEM. But I wish they would include a more unique (and still practical) headphone case, like a scaled down version of their packaging box. That would have been cool!
Great review, pretty much spot on! I have RE600, and I have to admit that I like them even more than my ER4S. One thing that is worth to mention, is that RE600 sound scales up a lot with amplifier. Driven by my Samsung S5, they are... fine earbuds, lets say, but do not impress so much. Driven by Groove Apogee or DACmini CX - very different story, they prove they are worth their name and they sure SING!
They are also very picky to the extension cable if you choose to use one (included cord is on a short side - and I like that on a go - but in my office environment I needed a bit more of cable). It is very easy to spot differences in cables, usually the more the resistance, the worse the sound, and difference is not subtle. Belkin extension was pretty bad, Mediabridge was almost passable, Choseal was actually pretty good, but still not quite like direct connection.
