TH500 performs well, more than any Mid-Fi Can, but Less than Summit-Fi range. At this price point, headphones like T90, HD700 are looking menacingly upon the TH500.
Technically its competitors outperform the TH500. I feel TH500 would be a great purchase, if Fostex had priced at around 499$ instead of 699$. That way, the TH500 would be a sure winner.
Definitely these are shy in bass department, & fall short of Beyer T90's, TH500RP's bass in on par with that of AKG's K702.
I have paired the TH500RP's with M-Stage, O2/ODAC, HUD-Mini, Yulong D200, & Little Dot LD1+
Yeah, thats what really surprised me! the drivers certainly look planar magnetic, and on Fostex's website, they are mentioned as dynamic! & HeadRoom too mentioned they are dynamic itself! "Regular Phase Dynamic Driver Headphone" That is really confusing, maybe Fostex will update the driver in upcoming days?
every review I Have read has these as planar magnetic headphones, so maybe it was a mistake. Also so if one could get these on sale for 350-400 would they be considered a good buy at that price point?
